Why do men often not answer all questions you have or deflect from them?

This is an issue I have with men often. Ironically I just saw a post the other day with other women having this issue with how men communicate. When we ask questions or may say something that is a little extended, they deflect or answer only 1 of the 2/3 questions


Example:

Yesterday my boyfriend and I were on the phone. He told me he was helping his cousin move to the city over from us and that he would call me back when he was done. Before we got off I asked if he wanted to go out with me today but the phone started having issues and we ended the call before he could answer. After that happened, a little time passed and I texted a voice message of what I was asking on the phone and he replied with a selfie lollll. It was a really sexy picture I admit. I replied to the picture with something sweet and have waited or him to reply back to me with an answer for going out today or something but he hasn’t. I understand after moving furniture and things one can be tired and he also works 12 hour shifts. Yesterday and today are one of his off days.
I sent him a good morning text and asked if he was alright but he hasn’t got back with me yet.
It’s still the morning, but I'm gonna move on with my day. Im not a fan of that kind of communication. If he couldn’t today, didn’t want to, or wasn’t sure he knows I’m easy to understand.

He is a decent communicator overall, but sometimes this really bothers me. I don’t want to nitpick though
