What's the difference between "hot"... "sexy"... and "attractive"?

First I think girls have a very different idea of what is sexy than men do. Girls are inclined to think fishnet stockings are sexy - at least I think they think that. But what is sexy about fishnets? It isn't as if it is revealing more than bare legs are. Back in 1950 it was possibly quite risque but it ain't now.

The sexiest thing about fishnets is it is sort of signalling the girl wants male attention and possibly wants sex that night because she is ovulating. Short skirts, push up bras, cleavage tops I put into this category.

Sexy is formulaic. Short skirts, fishnets, cleavage tops have been around since the 60's. Push up bras even longer and girls have been stuffing tissues into the cups in any case. My point is it is not OMG I CAN SEE stuff. That it is formulaic is an advantage in signalling (see para above) because it is saying something to the boys.

Hot I think is extended sexy. Possibly no bra giving natural breast movement and revealed nipples. Possibly side boob or under boob exposure. More exposed flesh, skimpier, thinner clingier cloth. Tighter, more merely colorizing the body. Definitely it is more "this is all of me (including my pussy)". Bikini pics are hot because the girl wants you to closely review her mostly naked body.

[Sidebar: Technically I think we must be at the limits of reducing the amount of cloth in bikini bottoms and that girls are going to have to move on to lap-laps. (A lap-lap is a waist band with beaded strings fore and aft). At this point I have only seen one girl in a lap-lap but I am confident more must be coming. Every guy is going to note there is no barrier to slipping it in and we will react to that.]

Attractive is vastly different. Flesh is revealed more modestly and never wantonly. Feminine skirts and dresses chosen for looking good rather than exposure. More modest cleavage. It can be sensual. I am thinking of one girl in particular here. She wears ankle length flowing skirts and I like watching the flow of her body.

Net Summary: Hot you want to fuck and fuck now. Sexy you want to take home and fuck. Attractive you want to fuck in a relationship.

They all go hand in hand. though with some differences. For example you can't be hot and sexy without being attractive. But you can be hot and attractive without being sexy. And you can be sexy and attractive without being hot. I think sexy has more to do with clothing and actions, "she looks sexy in that", or "what you're doing is sexy" and hot has more to do with physical asthetics. For example "you're hot no matter what you're doing or wearing."

If that makes sense lol I could be wrong.

An example for me, my wife is very sexy to me any time we are in the kitchen and she's learning from me. My wife sees me as sexy any time I'm cooking or using tools. She's hot no matter what she wears and never needs makeup, she's always hot. And of course she's always attractive. Peak sexiness for me is when she's wearing her comfy sweats and has her hair in a messy bun.

Yeah. Attractive to me is a combination of asthetics, body language, how she carries her self, her personality, voice, things like that.

And for me I'm attracted to a woman's eyes first, then her hair.

Marissa Tomei is Hot! Selma Hayek is hot! Monica Belluci. Scarlett Johansson To me. Fuller figures. The kind that sort of ooze sex appeal. And that does not require to have a beautiful face. They can simply have a plain face but still emit sex appeal

A woman can be beautiful , to me, and not create a craving. But the good news for all is, there are people different than myself who would fall over themselves chasing after ones I would walk past 😆

Attractive - the respectful, politically correct way of calling a girl good looking. It can be applied to anyone. I've told my cousin she's an attractive girl and I've told my niece she's an attractive girl. I've called my aunt an attractive lady. And I've also told my exes they're attractive.

Hot and sexy for me are usually used interchangeably with sexy being slightly stronger. I don't usually call girls hot to their faces, although if I did it wouldn't be disrespectful. It's something I usually say around my guy friends. "Holy she's hot", "Damn she's hot", etc.

As for sexy, it's the same thing, but with maybe more sex appeal involved, maybe because of what a girl's wearing.

I'm not sure what the objective difference is (if there is one), but I'll answer for my personal opinion :)

Hot

When I think of someone being hot, it's someone who isn't just pretty/handsome and has an enjoyable personality, but someone who also knows how to carry themselves in a way that few people these days do.

Sexy

When I think of someone being sexy, it's someone who is physically attractive and (at least in that moment) tailors their actions to be sexually suggestive and tantalizing.

Attractive

When I think of someone being attractive, it's someone who is pretty/handsome and has an enjoyable personality.

A tricky but good question actually. In any case those three words are somehow different degrees of the same quality. this is how I feel about their value:

- Attractive: A beautiful girl, no doubt attractive I'd say ;0)
- Sexy: More erotically in appearance and dress, with a hint meaning to make guys (or girls?) understand they may be potentially open to more intimate contact.
- Hot: Giving guys the urge to get her in their bed...

Lol. I hadn't meant it to be "tricky" but yeah, the line between "hot" and "sexy" seems to be very slim.

Interesting def of sexy... I have to think about whether I agree in terms of the person's intent to show that they're interested in intimacy. For example, Marilyn Monroe or Sophia Loren are considered as having basically infinite sex appeal... very sexy women by global standards... but Monroe was actually super introverted and Loren was a very serious woman who turned down any number of men who were attracted to her. (The were def temptresses of the silver screen, but way more classy compared to present-day stars, which is why I use them as examples. You can use male examples as well just to clarify for the gals on here also.)

Not sure one can really apply those words' definitions to people like Monroe and Sophia Loren, because they were very well known as actresses, and as thus attract fans of all kinds among which many will fantasize and make them sex symbols in their imagination. The rest is obviously a form of mass psychosis: some say those ladies are really sexy, and other fans will just accept that idea; not to mention the role of medias. Actors play roles, while everyday people in daily life have more the opportunity to do as they feel, consciously or intuitively.

Sexy - that is more in behavior and gestures. It could be about your attire your physique or just the way you speak.

Sexy is just about being sexually appealing. Slutty, and in decent shape. But not necessary to have the perfect tits/ass/face. Demeanor and dress is key here. Most hot women are also sexy. Most sexy women are not hot though.


Attractive is just about facial symmetry and good grooming. There is no implication of sexual attraction here. I can recognize that guys are attractive. I can see that both of my kids are attractive. My grandma, in her young pictures, was attractive. "Attracted to" is completely different. So I might as well answer that one.


Attracted to, refers to having sexual desires for someone. They can be hot, sexy, cute, whatever. The only thing that matters here is that you want them sexually.
