What is the difference between attractive and hot?

An interesting question. I think both are in the eye of the beholder. I know a lot of people who say "X is so HOT" but never approach that person. Rather, they approach the person to whom they feel attraction -- a connection that perhaps goes beyond a physical attribute. Bruno Kirby nailed it in "When Harry Met Sally" when he gives Billy Crystal a hard time about calling a girl "attractive with a good personality" and says, I think, "so she's attractive, but not HOT" a few minutes before he ends up connecting with Carrie Fisher for the rest of the movie.

I guess there are a lot of takes on it. What's yours. @FrenchyRomain?

I actually don't know, hence my question xD i dont mean to ruin your moment... your explanation is quite interesting though. I believe that attractive is indeed when there is a connection between the 2 (maybe because she is your type for example) and hot simply means she has an incredibly attractive physique but that is about it

Yes, I agree. Attraction isn't necessarily about the looks as much as the "type" that you feel drawn to.

I think the difference is; there could be a person who is attractive but not your type, you're not blind so you can easily say whether someone is, however hot is when you are attracted to them and they are your type.

Hot is a sexy body, attractive people don't necessarily need to be sexy, they just have to catch your eye. That's how I see it.

An attractive person is just naturally attractive. Hot is what an attractive person can do with their attractiveness lol
