Ex texted me after running into me yesterday?

Went out to a party with a few friends; ex had texted me beforehand asking if I'd be going and that she "looks forward to seeing me again", and tried to start a text convo asking how my day has gone. I sent a short reply back saying "will see", and proceeded to go to the party. (Prior to this text, we hadn't talked in 3 months).

Fast forward to today: I get another text from her saying "hey, it was really good seeing you yesterday!!". Unsure why the sudden urge to try and text again, and how I should proceed in interactions w/ her.

Hmm that is kinda weird man. Like why is your ex all the sudden trying to chat you up again after 3 months of nothing? Hard to say what her deal is exactly.

A few possibilities I can think of:

- She's lonely and trying to get some attention/validation now that she ran into you again. Girls can be like that sometimes even if they dumped you.

- Maybe she's feeling nostalgic and wants to hook up or get back together. Could be testing the waters by saying it was good to see you.

- Possibly she has a new boyfriend/situationship and is just bored so you're an easy option for some texts.

I'd probably keep it kinda short and casual for now if she hits you up again. Like "Yeah was fine running into you too" or something without getting too chatty. See how she acts next time you're both out - if she's flirty or whatever then you'll know she wants more.

But I wouldn't get your hopes up man. Once they ditch you they usually don't want you back for real. Protect your heart bro! Play it cool for now.

yah i felt like i was taken aback by the text, as once she ended things I said we won't be texting each other anymore and to go our separate ways. I'll just keep it short then & see where it goes

Yeah man, definitely don't overthink it or get sucked back in. Stick to your guns about keeping things casual between you. Short responses are the way to go until you get a better read on where her head's at.

My guess is hanging out in person again stirred up old feelings for her, even if she won't admit it. But don't let her string you along if she's not serious about being friends. Not worth the emotional baggage, you feel me?

Just keep it light, hang with your boys, don't cancel any plans for her. Let her see you moving on fine without her drama. If she sees you happy and independent, she'll either wanna be real friends or bounce for good. Win-win my dude! You got this.
