Why do women typically only have Borderline Personality Disorder? Do you think you should let a person know you have been diagnosed with a PD?

I did a lot of research after my ex revealed her diagnosis. She knew. Turns out she had been diagnosed years prior. Her symptoms began to get worse as time went on. She had pulled it together for a few years when we dated. We got married and within 3 months she turned. BPDs have boundary issues and act bizzairely inmature , inappropriate. And they typically just don’t have that faculty that allows them to be aware how off the wall their behavior is unless they are in regular counciling.

Men can have borderline personality disorder, too. But it is more prevalent in women. So is Alzheimer's disease, breast cancer, and depression. Men have pathologies that are more common than in women, such as leukemia, schizophrenia and autism. What you reveal about your private health history is up to you. Do I know everyone I come in contact with who has had lung cancer, or coronary disease, or a panic disorder? Probably not, nor would it be my business to know unless I were that person's physician.

If a woman had cancer and wanted to be with me.. I would need to be told. And vice versa. That can’t be bottled up. And neither should a very pronounced mental/emotional disorder that the person is almost incapable of overcoming without a very robust active health program. Not just taking medication and hope it doesn’t peak its head out.
