Should I keep dating a man who may want kids when I’m pretty certain I don’t?

I’ve been on 6 wonderful dates with a man. Everything feels perfect. Only problem, he’s pretty certain that he may want kids in the future. I’m about 90 percent sure that I don’t want them. He knows this but continues to date me and vice versa.

Normally I would just enjoy my time with him and go with the flow, but now a different man has expressed interest and wants to stay in touch with me. I wish I could just concentrate on one man but I’m feeling like I need to keep my options open.

Be very honest, if you don’t see a future maybe it’s time to break it off. Just be honest if you would like to keep seeing this man because you’re interested maybe the deeper talks can wait until later but you don’t want to get into something serious who isn’t compatible long term.

The other man unless you’re exclusive, you’re allowed to date more then one person. Dating is just seeing who you’re more interested in just don’t hide anything from either man be very respectful and let them know where they stand with you, and ask them where you stand with them as well. If at some point you loose attraction in one just express it and part on good terms. Same with them, if one of them or both for that matter says it’s not working out then you can have closure to move on.

It’s okay to date and see who you like as well as what you want, the same goes for them. Obviously at some point you want to concentrate on one man but at the same time you’re able to date until you see who you’re gaining more attraction to and eventually loose feelings for one.

Nope, if you stall a few more years you might never even be able to have them naturally at this point anyways and if he’s around your age it will break his heart and he’ll leave or be miserable and you’ll leave him.

I would stop dating the first guy. It’s like marriage, whether you want kids or not is one of those uncompromisable boundaries. You either do or you don’t, and to stay with someone who wants the opposite thing, that means eventually one will be robbing the other of parenthood. At the same time, for you to compromise means you’d be carrying a baby you didn’t want in the first place and forced into motherhood, probably suffer with severe postpartum depression and unable to love that child properly because you didn’t want them. I don’t think the sake of love is worth living in that scenario. You will find another man, just as you found this one. May not happen quickly but what’s the rush? Being single isn’t that lonely and horrendous unless that’s what you let it be.

Have you told him how you feel? How did he react to that? If he really wants children, he should date someone else.

Use common sense
