Guy stood me up a few weeks ago now he’s asking for another chance?

I reconnected with this guy 4 weeks ago we made plans to go on a date the following Friday we text every day, but he never mentioned the date during our conversations. the day of the date I thought he was no longer interested in going out he text me a few times in the morning asking me how my day is going and what I’m doing I responded to his messages and asked him what he was doing. after that I decided to stop responding because he told me he was at work and we weren’t really talking about anything I waited for him to text me with the details for our date but he never did. We didn’t go out that night and He text me three days later saying good morning. I did not respond to him and it has now been two weeks since we talked he decided to text me today and ask what happened Friday and he said he did not think I was still interested in the date because I did not have a conversation with him throughout the day Is that a reasonable excuse and should I give him a second chance or should I cut him off?

He's giving you a shit poor excuse, yeah. Because he knows well that even if you slacked off talking to him that day because he was at work, he could've still texted you later and been like "Hey, are we still on for the date this evening?" and should've just waited for your answer.

You sound like you're probably the type who is serious about dating or getting to know someone, so my advice would be to not even really bother with this guy honestly. Even if you give him a second chance, there's the possibility that he'll do it again.
