Do I give this guy another chance?

I (28F) met this guy (32) when he was finishing law school. He had a 2 year plan figured out where he’d move to another country for a year and travel and he didn’t want to stay where we lived at all. So we met, and he told me it couldn’t be serious bc he’s moving away. He moved to this country for 5 days before he came back home and said it didn’t feel right.

We continued to see each other but he was under a lot of stress because he couldn’t find work. He was dirt poor, in loads of debt and nobody was hiring him. He was depressed, he didn’t feel good about himself. He broke things off with me a year ago. We didn’t see each other for a year.

Now, he’s wanting to try again with me. He said he found a job here in his state. We live 40 minutes away, neighboring states. He just took the bar exam in my state to be able to practice law in my state and is planning to move to my town. He said he needed time to establish himself and at the time couldn’t handle a relationship and now he feels in a better place. Do I give him another chance?

See, the thing is about us men that we can not go into a relationship or even try, if we can't make sure that we can stand as a provider or as THE men. If a guy don't have job and cannot spend on his girl, he feel like the most baddest being on a planet. He did actually in my eyes the right thing. He took distance or even cut it off because he couldn't be what he want to be FOR YOU.


It doesn't matter how much you earn or got. He doesn't want to become one day a problem which goes on your damn nerves.

Give him a try, let him explain why. Just talk and see what can happen now.

If you like him and see potential, I would. People are at different stages in life. It sounds like he was struggling before, but sounds like he got his life together and is willing to give you the attention you deserve now. That is actually pretty admirable by him.


So if you like him, I’d give him another chance. But you also have to follow your heart and how you feel. Logically tho, I think it’s fine.

Doesn't seem to know what he wants. Tell him when he knows to hit you up again. If he can't get a job what's he doing for money? Sounds like he wants a sugar momma to tide him over until he gets a job. But that doesn't look like it' going to happen anytime soon.

I said in my question he has a job and has been there for almost a year now, he was establishing himself. I’m actually the one unemployed atm lol

hmm, I still love him so I’m leaving towards yes but sometimes feelings obscure things so I wanted outside opinions. But my intuition says give it a try
