How old were you when you had your first boyfriend or girlfriend?

I was 17 or 18 when I got my first official girlfriend.
I don't know the exact age, but I was a senior in high school.
At first, we were just casual friends anyway in high school, she a year younger than me. She was taking physics and I was taking AP Physics. (Her exBF, who I helped get her with him, was in my physics class when I was a junior the year before.) Anyway, she wanted some tutoring, so I'd come over to her house.
She really didn't need tutoring, so we hung out really at her place.
My first date, in a sense, was taking her to the Vanderbilt Planetarium where we saw a laser show. It was the Thursday before Thanksgiving, 20 NOV 1980. I'd be 18 in about 6 weeks. She had turned 16 two months earlier.
Anyway, at some point, we were a couple, but I didn't know it because she was a fun Jewish girl and I was a clueless innocent Catholic boy. So, one night, we are in her basement probably having played some ping pong or whatever. She went upstairs and then brought down two oranges - one for her and one for me. I don't remember if I ate it first or not, but I wanted to kiss her on the cheek to thank her. The next thing I know, this girl's tongue is in my mouth! It was wonderful. When we finally take a break from kissing, she says to "It's about time, [my name]." At that point, I realized I was her boyfriend and she was my girlfriend. I was very happy. I think this was before I turned 18, but I am not sure.

She just turned 60 yesterday and, as I do every year, I wish her a happy birthday.

I do consider that date - Thursday, 20 November 1980 - as my first date though. But I didn't think of myself as in a couple and she might not have either. I don't know. We were friends who had known each other for 2 years and I was "tutoring" her at the time.
