Would you tell someone they had same name / similarities to ex?

i meet this girl over the summer , odd thing is she has the same first name and some other things similar about her as this other girl that i liked. i didn't actually date the other girl but was kind of obsessed with her and had wanted to date her

note i didn't try and meet this new girl cause she had same name as her , i meet her cause she was best friends with this other girl. and at first we didn't pay much attention to each other , but last time when i saw her at bar she was more interested

No girl wants to be compared to your ex, this needs to just be something that is left out completely. The more you talk about it, the more it gives the impression you are not over the other girl, and somehow you will need the new girl to compare herself to her, etc. It just gets really messy.

still but if i don't what if someone else does? obviously a lot of people around my hometown who knew i was obsessed with that girl.

Ask yourself if that is still true. If it isn't true, and people do happen to bring it up around her, then you should let them know you moved on, and you should reassure the girl that you have as well. But generally I would hope that the people around you wouldn't hold that against you. For example, if I was someone's acquaintance, I would not feel close enough to talk to that girl directly and tell her anything. And if I was a true friend to the guy, I would not want to say anything that would sabotage his chances with the new girl.
