They also go by that name so if your exes name was David and your new boyfriend is also named David, he won’t go by any nicknames. You still have to call him David because he prefers that over nicknames like Dave or Davey

I would imagine that if them just having the same name of your ex is enough for you to not pursue then you probably shouldn't be looking in the first place.

Imagine liking someone and them not liking you just because of your birth given name, sounds like a bullet to be dodged.

After separating from Ex i tried speed dating. The first woman I sat down with had her name. It put me off (things were still raw and I realised just before speed dating started that i probably wasn't really ready to start again).

I've had several duplicate names over the people I've dated. I think it would be ridiculous not to date someone based on them having the same name as someone I'd previously dated.
