Should I keep trying with him?

So I went out with a guy twice, I asked him for both dates. On the second date, he seemed like he really liked me. We went to a haunted house and he said "you can grab on to me if you need to" so I grabbed onto his arm and he kept patting my hand and then halfway through the haunted house he said "you can hold my hand if you want" when I was walking ahead of him in a different situation, he grabbed on to my waist. After the haunted house, my friend told me that it seemed he was really into me. Then we went swimming and he told me "I meant to tell you this earlier, but you're really beautiful" and then me and him were being really flirty with each other. And another person told me it seemed he really liked me. The problem is, he doesn't initiate texting me or asking me on dates. It's always just me initiating plans with him. I really want to see him again, but I don't know if I should ask him on a third date, because I already asked him on two. When I text him, he doesn't ask any questions back, but he responds right away. What should I do?

It could be also that since youve asked him twice it's kinda the normal thing to do

I would like you to think of this from the flip side, although it's not the case for you, men in general are expected to initiate the plans and dates. The first the second, and the rest after. They don't really expect the woman to do it. And it's normal, its nothing out of the ordinary to hear the guy making the plans and asking. Do you see how it could make that guy question if the girl is into him because she's not initiating the plans but rather, waiting?

Now obviously not all girls do this. And there are some who do make efforts for 3rd or second dates. But in totality. Most times men are the ones asking and all they have to go off of on if the girl is interested is if she keeps saying yes and how she is on the date. So it's kinda like you've found yourself in a flipped role

If he seems interested in person then don't over think it. If you like him. As for what you should do, you got 3 options. Continue to take the lead and ask him and hope he eventually asks you, drop him and move on, or talk to him about it and ask him why he doesn't ask you

Just eliminate texting from the equation. When I say less is more it's truth.
As far as him not asking you out, that is weird. Here's a suggested strategy: when you are chatting and the vibe is lighthearted say something like: So Shelton, when are you going to ask me on a date? (or something similar) this gets you around the whole appearing desperate thing that girls have an irrational fear about.

He could be shy, or he could be lazy. There is no way to tell after only two dates.

You could ask him in the same manner you've asked us. I think a man should show as much interest as you do, and if you can't quite tell, I think the question is appropriate.
