1 y‘Let them’ ? , it would be their choice. I mean I’d like to also know her friends , there is a good chance that as she gets along with me and this friend that I will also get along with him. I would never have issue with my lady having a male friend. I don’t have any emotional issues or a problem with jealousy , completely confident of my girlfriend’s love of me and trust her.
If ever she gave me cause to think that trust was mis-placed however I would likely start paying a little closer attention though but that’s normal. Keep your friends close , your enemies closest and your girlfriends make friends closer still 😂00 Reply

1 yOf course. And you can’t stop her if she wants to have male friends. You could break up with her over it but that would be a really shitty thing to do.

u 1 yI don’t let my wife do anything. She does not ask my permission and i don’t tell her what to do. She does as she chooses.
Our relationship is more mature than that.10 Reply Allowed sounds so dictatorial. I personally don't believe that my wife should have male friends just because. She's got coworkers and will go out to lunch with them and others together, but it would be a bit weird if my wife was being texted by another man just to shoot the shit. My wife would feel the same way about me hanging out with other women. It would be different if the friendship already existed before you too though. You being 16 and me being 31 is such a different dynamic though.

m 1 yYes, if I considered myself as a normal person and not as a police officer on duty, then I would let them have friends, I would even let them buy groceries alone. And drink water.
I would not even be frustrated if they weren't grateful before my unexpected generosity.00 Reply 3.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. @chocolatetwopointo
Absolutely... My husband has many lovely female friends... Just as I have several lovely male friends... No couple should ever be restrained or joined at the hip.

1 y“Let them?” It’s so absurd getting permission from the partner such a thing. For jealousy, if u have self confidence, you don’t doubt about your partner.
00 Reply1.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. Well at 16 years old I sure would ! As the alternative would be incredibly unhealthy , so please don't try and enforce rather silly requests , not remotely a good idea.
00 Reply2.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. Sure, I have female friends, nothing wrong with that.
You can go out and doink a complete stranger so what is the difference.

1 yProbably not. I'm extremely jealous and possessive and I don't see why she would need a male friend if she has ME.
07 Reply- 1 y
I can explain why.
You cannot offer her what a male friend offers: friendship without sex or commitment. It's a totally different relation she might need and you can't give it - 1 y
@Maybe_Maybe_not Then why bother getting married if you don't want sex and commitment? And you're making it sound like sex and commitment are a bad thing
- 1 y
I didn't imply that marriage with one and friendship with others were incompatible, these are both happening at the same time, and they are both desirable for different reasons because these are different benefits.
I just said that your wife can find interest in having a male friend because you cannot offer male friendship since you are married to her. Since that implies sex and commitment then you cannot offer friendship she might need, thus she will find that with a male friend that is not you - 1 y
@Maybe_Maybe_not I think husbandry is better than friendship though. And they aren't mutually exclusive. I often hear people saying their spouse is also their best friend. I'm not sure what a friend can offer that a spouse can't, unless you need someone to gossip to about your spouse or get a second opinion on marital issues
- 1 y
Nothing is better than the other, these are different relations with different duties, benefits and purposes, the more the merrier but that's my taste in diversity.
I have 5 close friends including a female friend, they are all different and all offer a different point of view, different talks, different results. They are not interchangeable. And they all are compatible with another relation with another person I'm romantically involved with. - 1 y
A spouse can defo not offer me the friendship I have with my friends, she is just unable to do that and I don't ask her to do that
- 1 y
@Maybe_Maybe_not That's guy friends though, except for the one feel. Personally I don't see why I would need friends if I was in a normal healthy relationship
