No, it is not normal to drink 15-20 liters of water per day; this is considered excessive and can be dangerous, leading to a condition called water intoxication (hyponatremia) where your blood sodium levels become too low due to overhydration.
Key points about water intake:
Recommended amount:
Most healthy adults should aim for around 2.7 liters (women) to 3.7 liters (men) of water per day, depending on factors like activity level and climate.
Overhydration risks:
Drinking too much water can cause symptoms like nausea, headache, confusion, muscle cramps, and in severe cases, seizures or coma.
Listen to your body:
The best way to determine how much water you need is to drink when you feel thirsty and pay attention to your urine color
Really? I thought it's normal. I am healthy but I drink too much water. 🥺 I drink when I feel thirsty and I pee few times. Urine colour is normal. No, answers scares me. 🥺
You'll deplete all of your electrolytes drinking that much unless you are taking a concentrated amount. You probably have a medical issue if your body wants 5 gallons of water a day.
Too much of anything isn’t good and water isn’t an exception. Water intoxication can be fatal. My aunt had a seizure in her late teens from drinking too much water and it was a lot less than 15-20 litres
