It can do both. I cringe when I see people over sharing about their relationship on social media. Like, gosh, learn some discretion. Keep some stuff private. The whole world doesn’t need to know when you and your partner had an argument.

I don't believe social media destroys relationships. Relationships that fall apart because of social media where never very strong. You might as well say that professional sports destroys relationships, or video games, or any other hobby.
