u +1 ySocial media is like a drug; it takes the active cooperation of the users to create the addiction. . . so don't place all the blame on social media. And the problem is larger than social media; is is the access to the digital world that has led so many young people astray. They are addicted to being online. They are asocial because they never progressed beyond texting and they were left behind as their contemporaries advanced socially. They are addicted to gaming and watching a sophisticated version of cartoons online. They think that asking a girl for a date - and every other important social action - is something that you must do by text, and they wonder why they don't feel connected to others. And, actually, they don't ask a girl for a date because that would mean exposing the fact that they have some desire, and thus might be confronted with the pain of rejection, so they just ask a girl if she wants to hang out or chill, pretending to not really care that much. How cowardly! They won't admit that they are actually dating until the birth of their second child.
Thank God all young people are not like this!

I say step out of media find your self become who you want to be need it is a form of propaganda they tell you what they want you to know they leave out what they don't want you to know and why would you listen to somebody besides yourself it's your life it's your choice it's just like right now me writing this answering this question you can believe it or not for me this is my thought on it and only my thought because it works for me I look at everybody in this world and the first thing I think follower or leader real or fake find yourself you get a choice on who you want to be in life by the things you say and do it's your choice nobody else's and become the best person you can become

+1 yThat almost made me choke in response to your question, being my age, oh my... i can honestly express, i feel for all generations that evolved after my gen, apparently im gen x (informed by offspring). when we were children through to teenagers we lived in a time where our connection was in real earth time... we met in person, played, explored.. faced... face to face... ask someone out? face to face or landline phone... no texting as a brilliant escape clause... im ;quite jealous lol... so FUCK yeh do i think it affects relationships... my advice... new relationship clause no phones in your together time... as an example ONLY... no offense intended when a man uses porn to try to satisfy his natural desires/drives/needs that level of effort which is pretty low is way easier than considered effort into their partner, whereby creating a more likely intimate relationship... same goes for the female too... all genders incl,,, get out clause lol... time outs... you gotta remember these screens are the dealer to the dopamine and its fucking free... easy... makes ya lazy... BUT the price is SO MIND BLOWINGLY OBVIOUS but we are all in, even me here now...

Yes and Im not that much younger than you but I would agree the culture now is to be a coward in public but brave/bully behind the screen.
the staring at the phone while looking stank thing is out of control, women are scared to look forward, I notice that only women my age or older seem to know how to communicate, kind of depressing

+1 yAlong with entertainment, media, music everything you can think of.. all of it has ruined relationships. When you let so many thing dictate what your relationship is or will be about instead of working through it with your partner if you are being serious that’s the quickest way to end in doom. Even relationship help counseling sessions or podcast. Always take anything anyone says with a fine grain of salt. They don’t know you or your dynamic. If you want, the best thing to do is work on yourself and identify the ways you are flawed in the relationship and try to work on yourself. Then and only then, will things start to work much better.

+1 yThis is for the Romantic part of the relationship that I think social media is affecting. 1 million percent in this fast-paced social media era like there's so many options and people aren't settling for someone who's actually relationship material and think there is soooooo many options, which yes, that's true, but not from a quality standpoint. 💯

20 Reply796 opinions shared on Relationships topic. of course it has. people get more access to more options thus cheating has become much easier than ever

+1 yyes it is highly damaging to men and women but primarily women
the way instagram makes women need to constantly travel to show off to strangers is expensive and emotionally taxing. it makes them arrogant and self conscious and incrases their odds of cheating
worst of all it makes both men and women feel like there are so many fish in the sea that they can always replace their partner. but that isn't true.

+1 yThere's many things that have. Entertainment has given people a false sense of what love and romance is; convenience has made people unable to deal with small inconveniences; dudes hitting up women's DMs, sending unsolicited dick picks and getting verbally abusive when rejected, has caused ghosting culture; scripted pornos have given a false sense of what sex is; and social media & news has made people so addicted to drama, that people find relationships without drama, boring and unsatisfying.

+1 ySocial media has messed with everything! It is the founder of Fake News which now ravishes through our country. It is a scourge that needs to be squashed before it not only destroys relationships, but civilization as well.
00 Reply Social media has had a fair hand in accelerating the self destruction of the West, although it's 1 of many factors. The Vietnamese showed the West what their weakness was-propaganda. Ever since then, it's been all downhill for the West, and social media is a major tool that's being used to divide it.
00 ReplyNot just relationship but everything we got addicted to that dopamine hit we get from scrolling 😬
10 Reply7.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Yes, there are a lot of marriages that have been destroyed because of social media. People reconnect with people from the past and the temptation to cheat is hard to resist.
00 ReplyIt's encouraged people that use it to become more narcissistic. Narcissism isn't great for relationships...

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yYes, if it weren’t for social media making it so easy to cheat, I’d still be married. Social media ruined my marriage.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yYeah. But most of the people they messed up with were toxic to begin with. So really it wouldn't have taken much. Because if social media destroys your relationship it was a very weak relationship to begin with.

+1 yNot so much anymore. E-drama has rolled the fuck down since like 2011. With that said, I believe stupid people still blame social media for their own bullshit.
