Depends on the type of guy he is. If he is a guy who is truly confident and secure in himself, he will want a girl who is independent. (Not to be confused with a "I don't need men/ men suck" type of woman) But a lot of guys are out here thinking they want a confident, hot, independent woman but can't actually handle it. An independent girl is smart. She thinks for herself, she has opinions and she's not just going to blindly obey and follow anything he says. A lot of guys are attracted to someone magnetic and independent but after they get close with her, that could be something that makes him insecure. So they might want her to change.

Funny story, but I was talking to a guy for a bit, who was mad because I didn't follow his fashion advice. So fall was rolling around and I was debating on whether to get the trendy loaf UGGS or the Birkenstocks. He preferred the Birks and was strongly recommended I get them. I got the UGGS instead because I liked them better. Weeks later I asked what his dream girl would be like, and he deadass said "someone who follows my fashion advice and listens". This is just too funny to me. We were buying cologne, and the same thing happened. We liked different ones, but I didn't force him to buy the one I liked. So I don't know why he was acting like this.

A lot of guys (but just people in general) act more confident than they actually are. So it takes a bit of time to figure out if they have any controlling tendencies.

Yes I love Independent women who are confident smart wise and they're happy and they don't act like they had to struggle fight to get to where they're at it just came normal because that's who they are and they don't have to build themselves up to talk about it they prove it just by their actions and their happiness yes I do like independent confident women

That depends on your definition of independent. If it’s genuine independence then yes men who marry dependent women will be the ones getting used and eventually discarded.

But the women who are bitter with men and hate them can stay single.

Not personally, the ones that do probably don't have a clear idea of the meaning of an independent woman, it means they don't need anybody, at that point it's only a matter of time before they find any excuse to be on their own again, I want a woman that would at least have emotional needs.

What does it even mean to be “independent”?


If it means you don’t need a parter then you won’t get one.
To have a partner you have to let them in.
That means choosing to be codependent even when you’re capable of independence


You can’t have it both ways


independent is just another word for sad and lonely.

The problem is, "independent woman" can mean countless different things, but most women who ask this question are referring to things that don't really have anything to do with independence. What they are really asking is whether guys like women with certain personality types that are off putting to most men.

Speaking for myself: I like a woman that doesn't act like a child that I have to do things for her.

Independent in terms, acting in arrogance and prefer to be away from me acting too much independence is a turn off.
