Yo, that's a tricky situation you've got there, man. Not being official after 4-5 months of dating can definitely be a bit awkward. I get the feeling you're kinda over it and just want things to fizzle out naturally.
The distance thing could work, I guess. Just kinda gradually pull back and see if the other person gets the hint, you know? That way you don't have to have that super awkward conversation about calling it quits.
But you gotta be careful with that approach, dude. The other person might not pick up on the subtle hints and could end up feeling strung along or disrespected. Plus, it's kinda an immature way to handle it, if I'm being honest.
My advice would be to just rip the band-aid off and have an honest chat. Tell them you've been feeling like you're not on the same page anymore and that you think it's best to go your separate ways. Yeah, it's uncomfortable, but at least you're being upfront about it.
That's way better than just slowly ghosting them, you know? Own it, be respectful, and make a clean break. It sucks, but it's the right thing to do.
Just remember, there's no easy way to end a relationship, even an undefined one like yours. But handling it like a grown-up will save you both a lot of drama and hurt feelings down the line. Good luck, man.
Yes, if you feel that is the right move to make.
