Is my mum right, or is my best friend right? Will it only encourage him?

I invited this guy with Asperger's Syndrome, whom I'll call *Mark* and through Mark, his friend *Tian* (who I I had to get off two forms of social media to avoid, because he kept hitting on me when I wasn't interested); to attend a dating cafe meet up for people with Asperger's Syndrome in our local area to speed date and friend others with Asperger's around our age.

I literally invited everyone with Asperger's Syndrome that I'd ever known, from various activities that I've attended over the years, friend, foe or acquaintance.

My mum said it was a mistake to invite Tian. because it will encourage him to think I'm interested in seeing him, especially having invited him to a speed dating event. My best friend *Nina* who was a close friend of Tian's said he won't bother me, that he'll be too busy hitting on other women to notice me. So it should be safe to invite him. I was motivated just to be kind to everyone, inclusive, because I thought it was a good chance for all of us to meet people.

Is my mum right, or is my best friend right? Will it only encourage him?
