Do you think my friend is right about this?

My friend told me sometimes God is directing me to the guy that I should be with and my guy friend has been the one for me since day one. He may not be the guy I want but he’s the one that I should be with because I’m reality my heart is after him and the man I’ve been looking for has been right there in front of my face and I need to wake up. She thinks my dad probably thinks he’s the ideal boyfriend for me but the problem is I don’t see him that way and I remember my parents saying you can’t force someone to like you but said to my guy friend that I’m a good catch and he said he got himself a good woman. That was after he asked why he didn’t have a girlfriend and my girlfriend jokingly said I was his girlfriend. So what? We dating now? I can’t flirt with guys anymore?
If we were a couple, we would have gone on date, call or text each over everyday and whatever. He doesn’t call or text me much. He does like happy birthday or holidays or once I’m a while to say hi but other then that, we’re not a real couple.
One time my dad thought I was talking to him on videos but I was talking to my besties. I wish my dad hadn’t asked him if he had a girlfriend. That was embarrassing and plus nobody asked how I felt or concidered my feelings but it was a joke. My friend said maybe god is trying to tell me something and plus I’ve been single for too long and I’m in my mid 30s.
I promise we’re not dating.

Its true that God might have already put the person in your life but how you inspect that should be carefully, don't rush into anything and read them out first, from every angle, at some point you'll know if they are the one

There's no such thing as the perfect person but there is such thing as good enough. If you're not attracted to him and don't act attracted to him, he's probably not going to ask you to be his girlfriend or act like a boyfriend, etc.

In the first place, there's no such thing as god.
Most importantly, you should ONLY pair up with someone you REALLY LOVE!! Someone you KNOW you'll be REALLY happy with!! This guy doesn't even sound like he's the LEAST bit interested and neither do you. If you want your relationship to last a very long time, find someone you REALLY love and mesh well with.
