I’m starting to like this guy at work so much and it’s dangerous?

There’s a guy at my job. My first day he butted into my conversation with someone else and shook my hand and he comes up to my desk sometimes and will talk and told me about his backstory and leaned on my desk and was like “yeah I came from a company in Louisiana and the work environment there was toxic but I won an ( award ) so that was cool” and he said it casually. And he asked where I was from. He’s just playful and talks to everyone around the office but he seems softer with me. He’ll blush and smirk while talking to me. Sometimes he’ll ask me to do something or send an email but that’s because he’s in charge sometimes. Yesterday he sent me an email about something he wanted me to follow up on and at the bottom was like “let me know if you have any questions or concerns” which he never does in emails to other people. He’s a producer and the other day, came up to my desk and was like “I’m so stressed, Ally” And was kind of smirking and I was smirking back and told him “I know, you’re so busy.” And he was like “yeah” and was still kind of smirking and I was smirking and I was like “take a deep breath and relax” and I asked him how old he was and he was like “29” and was kind of smirking and somehow we got onto the topic of planes and be told me he’d never taken a plane until he got flown out to the job to visit. And two other guys joined our conversation and hogged it lol. We have meetings to throw out ideas and I threw out an idea and my crush was like “that’s really interesting”. I have another colleague who always picks on me about not working hard enough and it’s annoying and the guy I like will always defend me. The annoying colleague was quizzing me after I asked him to and I got some of the stuff wrong and he kept quizzing me and being annoying and the guy I like was like “lay off of her” and they kind of got into it a little bit and then the annoying colleague kept calling out stuff and the guy I like was like “dude you’re giving me a headache”.

Woah girl, it sounds like you've got a big ol' crush developing on this guy at work! I can totally understand why, he seems super sweet and attentive towards you. The way he defends you from that annoying coworker is really nice. If this guy is your superior, it is dangerous to get involved with him at work. And he seems to be acting far to personal to BE a boss.

I realize this is flattering, but stop smirking and be professional. This is how you make your living. It's not a dating site. If anything goes wrong with a work relationship, you could lose your job. So avoiding them is safer.

Be pleasant, but not flirtatious. Caution is the better part of valor, as they say.
