Are single mothers single mothers because they pick terrible men or are the dating pool of men in society terrible?

That depends on her situation every single mothers situation is different. There are some women who sure make some poor choices in life…. But they are able to own what they did and are taking responsibility for their children.

There is also women who may have been married at one point but if her husband started getting abusive, cheating on her, etc. That’s of no fault of her own she did the right thing by not only removing herself from the situation but the baby as well.

There are women who may have been married but got widowed again at no fault of their own things happen.

There are women who may have been raped at no fault of their own.

There are women too who may have been with a man who seemed great at first but was future faking, became abusive, or tried on the other extreme rushing marriage, maybe even cheated.

You’re right there are some women who intentionally choose bad men. They want to sleep around with no consequences but all of the sudden want a good man to come swoop her off her feet and save her from her poor choices. While taking zero accountability acting like she’s the victim. Not owning her bad choices. There are women like that who will just become more and more miserable as life goes on.

But I do think you should be VERY careful jumping to conclusions about all single mothers. Because what happens if one day you’re in that situation? So before you start just judging you should look at people on a case by case basis. Not all single moms are that kind of woman. Many are just doing the best they can not only for themselves but their baby. Some are working multiple jobs barely making it by absolutely exhausted with no support from a fatherly figure.

But there are also bums who put themselves before their baby. Are out partying and drinking leaving their kid with questionable people.

That's a super complicated question to ask day after VDay...

Everyone is single for a reason. Let's not pretend it's JUST ONE reason, shall we? Some women are AWFUL and so they're single. Some men are AWFUL and so they're single. That's pretty much it. The baby-daddy/baby-momma stories are just an outcome of something that happened with someone AWFUL... Let's not toss all the blame on one gender as if the other is flawless.

Possibly a little of both. Most women don’t choose to have children to terrible men. It’s usually a case of they meet a guy who is great, and then once the woman gets pregnant, the guy shows his true identity and becomes a piece of shit. So call that what you will. Technically she picked a terrible guy, but she didn’t know he was terrible because he didn’t show that side of himself until he’d already baby trapped her.

you usually don't know a guy is shitty until it's too late but sometimes it's obvious as hell and a lot of single mothers keep having more kids, which is bullshit. just leads to forcing the oldest to grow up quickly bc they usually end up taking care of the rest of the kids

It is a combination of both. Some women make bad choices, but many men become bad men overtime. Rarely do men seem bad at first, but they can soon turn rotten after a while, and that often happens once kids arrive.

No. Because one guy can (and typically does) impregnate multiple women. Half the time these women aren't even paying attention enough to deduce that a lot of the time that guy is seeing multiple AT THE SANE TIME.
Now I will admit that the number of bad men out there is getting larger. But that is fairly easily explained away to. Because bad men rewarded for thier bad behavior. I'm not condoning it. But if you look at it logically it makes sense.

It depends, there's also a lot of women that either sleep around A LOT or those that just want kids but no hubby or those that don't stick with him at all and then find out they're pregnant from him but still don't want him in their lives. Others know that thew more kids they have, the bigger their welfare checks are gonna get.
