I got catcalled and I'm scared of telling my boyfriend about it. Am I being dishonest?

I was on a trip to Dubai with my parents and some of my dad's colleagues. We were going on a yacht and I was catcalled by some of the workers there. One even touched me from behind. My parents were far away and didn't notice. I told my mom about it and she said I'm not to blame, but I'm scared of telling my boyfriend about it. It's been 3 months and he still has no idea. I'm scared he's gonna think I don't trust him enough despite the fact that we've been together 3 years. The guilt is eating me up. Am I being dishonest?

Your boyfriend is a lucky guy that you're even thinking about this. If the guilt is eating you alive...(it shouldn't be) you are an exceptionally honest person at heart.

I am all about DON"T KEEP ANYTHING FROM ME. That's my number one thing. Just don't have me not know.

However, even I wouldn't consider it disloyal to keep this from me. This was not something that you did wrong. It's not something that he has to worry about going forward. And you handled yourself right.

I wouldn't be pissed off if my girlfriend didn't tell me. But I would prefer she did, for one reason. Because telling me something like that... makes me super reassured that she isn't going to keep stuff from me. If she's honest about this... I can assume she'll be honest about things that matter.

Your boyfriend will not be upset. If any boyfriend were to get upset about THIS? You need to find a new boyfriend.

You sound awesome. I hope the girl I fall in love with has an honest soul like yours. Telling him will alleviate your guilt (which you need not feel). And again, only a terrible guy would take it as anything to hold against you.

If it were me, you would score a million points by being upfront.

You should not worry he'll be upset. He would be such a ridiculous weirdo if he were upset. You got catcalled and groped. What should you have done differently.

I think as a general rule, if you feel guilt for concealing it... you should tell him (just don't be afraid of his reaction. No need to be)
