If my boyfriend is talking to other girls but tries to hide it and lies to me about it, should I be worried?

We've been together for two years and two months now and are very close, we both have a lot of opposite sex mates and we don't mind that innocent flirting is sometimes exchanged. But lately talks to other girls all the time, but when I ask him about it, he lies and says he doesn't speak to her. He tries to hide it by pretending he's not that close to her, or avoiding her when he's around me. I'm so confused. Should I be worried that somethings going on, or that he doesn't trust me? Or is it that he doesn't love me like he used to? Or is this some weird thing that most guys do?

I agree with dral, you need to keep your head here. Obviously if you two have been together for that long you really have something special for one another. Innocent flirting is not a big deal as long as it is nothing more. From what you have given us it doesn't really seem like there is more going on. However, what concerns me is that he is lying about it. If he is creating these trust issues than you really need to check into it. He should not be lying about these things, if it really is harmless then he should be able to come forth with it. I wouldn't necessarily be worried, but I would definitely try to talk to him about the lying part. Like dral said though, don't be stalkerish about it and don't force it too hard, he might get mad at you then.

Thank you. I don't mind the flirting or the fact that he's close to her as most of his closest friends are girls. The fact that he is lying worries me because if he's not cheating, which after two years is doubtful, lying isn't doing the relationship any good. So I'l ask him about the lying, because I doubt he's cheating, but I just need to know reasons... Thank you anyhow =)

why not try to get to know her? If he objects then that's MAYBE cause for concern.

Pressing the issue with him is probably not the best option. Try and be tactful about it, without being stalker-ish.
