Are men attracted to intelligence the same way they are attracted to beauty or is it purely a financial and domestic asset to them?

Reason being, Mark Zuckerberg is very attracted to Priscilla Chan and she is not as rich as him or as good looking as your average fashion model, but never once has he cheated on her or embarrassed her or said anything bad about her. She does have a degree from Harvard so I think we all know she is intelligent, especially because she came from a poor family and got in using her brain and not her connections or her wealth.

Yes, I find intelligence very much attractive, but I think that there can be different ways of being intelligent, much like there are different ways to be visually beautiful. It’s very attractive for a woman to be intelligent about her passion, hobby, or vocation, and I find the most attractive kinds of intelligence to be of the emotional kind; a woman who understands and is mature in her emotions, can effortlessly empathize as much as she can sympathize, is down-to-Earth, reasonable, not self-serving, and is very mindful of both her words and her actions are levels of intelligence and attractiveness that can truly take my breath away. Also, if she holds eye contact, instigates conversation with me, faces me when we talk, and shows genuine respect for and interest in me, I truly do feel I owe both my respect and my admiration to her. Also, it may seem counterintuitive, but I think it’s a mark of very high intelligence to acknowledge that you don’t know something; on a personal note, I think it would be very impressive for a woman to embrace not knowing something, whether about me or something else, and ask me to share my knowledge or experience with her, however much or little I may have. 😁 In my opinion, there’s something about a woman with expressive eyes, a demeanor that shows she cares, and a desire to know my thoughts that would make her seem infinitely more intelligent than one with an “Ivy League education,” etc. 😊

Generally, no, not in the way you mean.

For the vast majority of men, a woman of average intelligence (and 89% of women fall into this range) is all that matters. She needs to be able to hold a conversation and have some common sense, but being above average in intelligence is more of a "nice to have" but is not a first-tier factor when choosing a partner.

The things men value are the things they have always valued and will always value. Despite generations of indoctrination trying to change what men want, men haven't changed. Some may have given up, but they would rather have no relationship at all than not get what they want. Others will just play the casual game forever, never investing in someone seriously if they can't get what they want.

The bottom line is that men are the primary providers, and women always expect that from men, even when the woman is making an abundance of money herself - no matter how much she makes, she expects a man who makes even more. Men have no such expectations from women. And it's quite rare that a woman is the primary breadwinner in a sustained relationship unless it's either an abuse relationship or an age gap relationship where she is significantly older.

A woman having above average intelligence doesn't necessarily benefit the man, while the man being above average in intelligence often has a direct and significant impact on the lifestyle and safety he can provide her. Men and women both tend to value things in the opposite sex that they don't already have themselves.

The reasons Zuckerberg chose his wife are all of the standards reasons AND because she WASN'T stunningly beautiful. A young supermodel would not have the traditional values he was looking for, and would be targeted by every Chad on the planet. Zuck is smart enough to avoid that. Finally, her Harvard creds allow her to run more comfortably in high society with him. That's not a factor for the vast majority of men.

Some men find intelligence sexy. But a lot of men don’t. It’s usually looks then personality. She may not be the cutest, hottest girl out there but she probably treated him the way he wanted to be treated. When it comes to finances men aren’t concerned w how much you make. A man would take a girl working at McDonalds who is cute, treat him right, over a CEO of a company who makes millions. A lot of the things women find attractive is not what men find attractive in a partner. A lot of men would like a stay at home wife, a mother to raise their kids while he works. But you can’t say that these days cause you’re called misogynistic or told you just want a slave at home. No I want a girl who wants the same. That’s what I looked for. After 17 years we’re still together. I get these days most couples both have to work w the economy the way it is. But if men had the ability to provide for a family where mom didn’t work, many of them would take that over both of them working. Intelligence isn’t on the top of most men’s list. Sure we don’t want a complete ditz either. But I don’t need my wife to talk w me about medical stuff as far as procedures, the medial industry, etc. I say that because a lot of women tend to throw out, then what could you two possibly talk about if she’s not intelligent.

The ability to have thoughtful engaging conversation is vitally important to me. I think wisdom is also great to see I'm a woman. My wife is both smart and has a lot of wisdom.
