Why do guys prefer not to date single mothers?

It comes down to increased responsibility attached to the woman. If you're dating a single woman without kids then you're looking at getting into a relationship. If she's a single mother, then you're getting a relationship with an implied, but undefined role, in helping to raise a child (who you've never even met at that point). It's a daunting prospect for most guys.

It would be the same reason, that a woman might prefer not to date single fathers. It's just more that comes along with dating a single parent. It's not that all guys will feel this way. But many do.

Because it’s a pretty big one


Guys don’t just casually jump into a father figure role because they have chemistry with a woman


So in terms of preference, single and childless is far less complicated that should be obvious

Can be he doesn't want the responsibility of a child that isn't his.

Single mom of small kids can't afford the guy enough alone time together.

An ex might be a problem coming into the relationship dynamic.
