Is it rude of my man to not introduce me to people we run into in public?

This has happened on multiple occasions, in fact I’d say about 8 out of 10 times we run into people he knows in public, he didn’t introduce me to the other person even if we’ve met the person multiple times. On the other hand, when I run into people that I know in public, I would always introduce him. Even going as far as calling him over if he’s not next to me, simply because I don’t want him to feel left out.

Not sure if I’m just being petty for feeling left out when he doesn’t introduce me to the people we met in passing?

It is rude. I had an ex point out that I had a tendency to be guilty of exactly what you're boyfriend does. I honestly didn't even realize I did that, and I certainly didn't know I was making her feel... the way you feel.

As soon as she pointed it out I was able to see that sometimes I did definitely do that. And as far as I know I fixed it after it was pointed out to me. But its fair. I don't think you're being petty.

In my case, I wouldn't introduce my girlfriend if the person I ran into wasn't important. It was when I ran into someone who doesn't mean anything to me. Who isn't important. An acquaintance, not a friend.

It wasn't because my girlfriend wasn't important enough to me to introduce her. It was that the other person wasn't important enough to me to bother. It's during interactions I'm just trying to get through as quickly as possible.

I wouldn't forget if I ran into a friend. But some guy I worked with for 3 months in 2007... isn't someone important; and I'm unlikely to see them again.

I'm not trying to justify his (or my) behavior. I think you've got a point. Just talk to him about it. I would think he could change this. He is unaware that he does. Let him know.

I did let him know but he was pissy about it. He does sometimes get defensive when called out but would usually still correct his behavior later on so I hope he heard me.

It just means that he does not value you as much as you value him. If this bothers you then you should have a conversation with him on this one. Who knows maybe he has genuine concerns

I did and he deflected saying I was too far away then I said, I was behind you… and he said oh then I didn’t see you. I mean okay but this has happened multiple times even when I’m right next to him so…

I’ve never thought about it but when I do, my fiancé always introduces me to people he runs into and knows, or if he’s on the phone and someone asks what he’s doing he always mentions being with me. He’s very inclusive of me in his life to the extent that if he weren’t, I’d find it odd and yeah, rude. So I’d say your feelings are valid.

I did talk to my man about it and he said “you were too far away” even though I was literally not even 5 ft away from him…
