Sudden relationship?

I met this guy we hit it off really well. We had drinks talked vibed one thing led to another we had sex. I have been celibate for one year and supposedly he had been for 7 months. I have had close friends recently pass away less than two months ago. Honestly it felt good to be around him and everything. After our encounter we talked and everyday and seen each other often. We have been on a few dates and have more planned for the upcoming weeks. I'm loving this energy we have. He expressed that he liked me a lot and feel some type of way when I dnt talk to him ( I feel the same way). I guess this is a relationship. He stated that we are exclusive. I just had a history of shutting off when things get too close almost like I reject love. Just needing advice on how to not lose interest or get in my own thoughts and shut off. I really like him.

These type of relationship are the best sometimes. You have to look at it a couple different ways first of all you all cought up in the moment and it feels good to be alive again . But remember this every thingbyour feeling is coming from you

What I mean by this is for a while you've been quite slow motion.. he comes in to your life and you start doing things together it's all new. He's opening doors with in you and your feeling you again alive again. You have to remember those feelings only come from with in you your the only one that can make you feel happy or sad or anything. So it's a way of you talking to you and growing... and you get cought up in it and might think it's him making you feel thus way. But he's just there saying let's do this and this. He's opening the doors for ew adventures. That's it It's your allowing yourself to become alive again. That's it... Now what you have to do is really look deep inside of him

Feel who he is on the inside his heart. Is he a giver? Is he a taker? Does he talk bad about people? How does he treat waiters? You need to pay attention to every word. He says and find out who he is on the inside.. his eyes abd his heart. will tell you everything. His mouth will tell you things that sometimes don't matter and you have to hear what he's not saying and since your alive again eat that sex up. Allow yourself to become it give it take it love it. Become one. And if he doesn't know how then teach him. You be you because the truth is. He's is either going to let you all thevway in or he's not and you will do the same no matter what happens you can look at it as you gave your part to make it work he has to do the same

You need to let him know that you have this tendency to shut off when you get close (that's an intimacy issuue). And otherwise, communicate to him that you are as excited about this as you are. Tell him that you really like him.

I don't know if I can help you get-out-of-your-own-way in terms of shutting down. Intimacy issues can definitely mess with any relationship. But I think that open and honest communication is key.

If he is aware of how you feel. If he is aware of this self-sabotaging tendency... then he is best equipped. The more he knows about how you feel, and where you're coming from if you suddenly start pulling away, the more likely he is to be patient. But... it depends on how bad your intimacy issues are. If you really can't get close without shutting off... then you need to get help for the intimacy issues.
