Is it a good sign when your boyfriend leaves his phone with you when he leaves the room?

So my boyfriend has recently started leaving his phone around me while he goes out for a smoke. He even sometimes ask me to hold his phone for him. Now I’ve been cheated on before and usually guys who are being shady would never let their phones out of their sight. Although I also had a guy leave his phone with me even when he was cheating on me. I know I’m probably overthinking but do you think this is a good sign?

I don't understand some of the comments that man gave on your question. Either they are really dumb or didn't read your explanation very well.

I can tell you that him leaving his phone behind and letting you hold it means that he doesn't have anything to hide from you so it's a great sign that you can thrust him not having shady conversations with other woman. In every good relationship both parties have nothing to hide and dont mind their partner to look in their phone.

If someone isn't willing to let their partner look in his/her phone it usually means they're hiding things but in your boyfriends case he is not hiding anything from you💯💪🏼

Thank you!! Yes some of the other comments are baiting me to overthink lol but I’ll take him leaving his phone with me as a good sign! He knows my passcode and he gave his mine even though I’m not gonna snoop but I think that means he has nothing to hide

Well he obviously has nothing to hide... plus even more important he trusts you that you will not violate that trust and sneak a look at his phone.
