We stopped talking over a joke gone wrong? Am I wrong for being offended. ?

So I was talking to this guy for a couple months hitting it off and had our date planned for this week today we were chatting and we are always joking. Today I was joking with him I called him a nickname that I always call him but he responded and took it to another level saying that I hooked up with all these mutual friends (and saying that I’m used up) on Facebook and that I’m a wanna be. I got offended by this and we had an argument am I wrong for feeling offended by this?

Tbh I wouldn’t be able to help but feel like he was doing that on purpose, because why after 5 perfectly fine months of inside jokes and jokes in general, he picks the day you’re supposed to meet up to be so highly offended? And what’s up with all these grievances he chose to air as well? Saying he thinks you’re used up and whatever, that has been a thought on his mind already and I’m not sure why he waited to drop that on you today as well. It’s definitely sabotaging.

Thanks for replying. That’s the part that threw me off and I took offense too because it was crazy disrespectful and out of no where. I had to rethink the situation if I was over reacting but it was crazy what he said too

What was the nickname? Cuz I highly doubt most nicknames are offensive enough to warrant that response
