He asked "is this what it'll be like if we were dating"?

I've been going on dates with this guy. We're were at his place the other day. He bought groceries, I cooked. We were upstairs watching TV. I was passively online shopping (80% off sale) he was playing music and also scrolling.

He took my phone from me (none aggressive, I do it to him too) and said "is this what it'll be like if we were dating?"

Not sure how to take that question. I cooked a really good meal. We had fun. Then tst question. We watched a movie. We cuddle and fell asleep wrapped around each other.

Wondering if that question is promising or dismissive... Of course I could ask him, but then again you guys are right here!

He probably means in in a good way as in he hopes this will continue my now husband only had home cooked meals when I'd come over because he's a bad cooks lol and I'd always bring baked goods and he looked forward to it

Lol. This guy cooks. When he's at mine I rarely let him cook and when I'm at his I cook every so often. I donteh to bribe him with sweets. He doesn't really have a huge sweet tooth, which sucks because I'm a cake decorator. But it's been fun bringing him little snacks from work and seeing which ones he devours, right now he's in love with our cake batter cookies and I'm definitely planning on fattening him up.

I swear sometimes you women are so emotionally immature because why didn’t you ask? It’s such a simple question yet you’re so fearful of looking a certain way or scaring him off that you won’t do it.

I might've had a few too many drinks. And yes I could be asked, but I didn't... So here we are.
Also saying "you women" is kinda weird. Sounds like you're removing yourself from the female population.

Why didn’t you the next day or the next time you see him? Why would you want an answer about this from anyone other than him?
Saying “you women” just means women like yourself, who are so afraid of these conversations for one reason or another that they just avoid it altogether. It’s a lack of emotional maturity because as an adult, you should be able to ask another adult these questions and if not send him running for the hills.
