My boyfriend wants to go to France for his master's and expects me to go as well, but that'd mean catering my plans according to his needs. Selfish?

I've been with my boyfriend for 4 years now. We've been dating since high school and live in India. He's studying engineering while I'm studying English and psychology. He wants to get a business degree from France as engineering opportunities aren't that great in India. I'd support him... If he didn't relentlessly try to convince me to join him as well. I've told him multiple times that my life is here and I'm happy living here, but he constantly says that he doesn't wanna live in this backward country anymore and wants me to shift with him to France. My parents cannot afford it as the tickets will lead them to giving up their retirement fund. I've tried explaining, but he doesn't listen and wants me to pursue my master's in France too ( Yeah, I'll easily get a master's in English in FRANCE.). If I bring up separating, he's gonna live in denial. I don't know what to do. Am I being selfish by disagreeing with him?

Studying English... is the most useless thing you could do with your life, especially in an era where you're surrounded by illiterates. What the * are you thinking? (It was bad enough majoring in English back in MY day. Now it is literally useless... even teachers are discouraged from focusing on grammar etc.). Psych you can't study in FRANCE? Come on...

@Ariesman81 I mean I literally have the fanciest English degree in the land... serves NO purpose in the universe of illiterate trolling. Psych is pretty cool, but can absolutely be learned in France, where so many of the fledgeling concepts of the profession were born and fostered. Here it's all about Jung/Freud and oral fixations, which is possibly what she's into. I don't know.

Right! Obvi the tickets! But I’m surprised someone her age isn’t managing her own schooling. I had to pay my own way through college etc. and I know I was “raised right” with sturdy morals and work ethic. I would have given anything for a year abroad — most kids DO take those opps today. I don't know what the issue is.
