Why did she call our outing a date if I’m 99% sure she isn’t interested in a relationship?

Like it says, I invited her out after our exams and she told me a few days later she enjoyed our “date”, but don’t get used to a lot of them. I care a lot about her, and I know the logical the chances of her being interested in me romantically is near zero; I’m no fool. But why did she use the term date?

trying to put my feeling away by concerning my self in my studying and act like a friend should towards her. I don’t want to make things awkward for us, by pursuing her further knowing the likely outcome. I just want understand why she may have used verbiage I misinterpreted.
