My ldr friend with benefits is 34 and I am 53 so is this toxic?

I met him 3 years ago on a vacation in my home state and he lives on the east coast. He is the only man I've met that is a purely kind and a very interesting person. He respects me more than any man I have met in life. We get along great however the age gap will be the deal breaker for any kind of romantic future or anything more than friends with benefits. Should I just distance myself from texting him? If we lived in the same state we would be hooking up. I value his friendship so much. Let me know your take.

Nothing toxic about it. You're 2 consenting adults that have a connection. The only thing I'd say is if you want to get serious and the guy wants a family of his own, then it's probably not best to pursue anything more than being friends with benefits. Otherwise, just do what you want.

My main thing is... communicate with him. Communicate all your thoughts. Be honest and up front about how you feel. You can take it from there based on the response you get. But do not just ghost the dude.

He wants to move to my state to live with a friend next summer. I told him I have always liked him enough to be serious but I think he might want a woman his age for maybe a future family. He never says anything but keeps me as a side chic that is my assumption.
