Why did he ghost me but not block me?

I met someone I had a crush on in person for the first time. We had a very short conversation on instagram DM's before but the conversation just ended..
It was at a formal awards night where there was some dancing, I approached his date first to ask if he was with any of them she said no they are just friends. If I am interested I should go dance with him because he is really shy. I am shy too.

I dont think he knows I'm the same person that he spoke to on instagram ( my profile is private)

Eventually I built up the courage and just did it. At the end of the night I asked for his number.

He was hesitant and explained he just came out of something serious, I told him so did I. so no expectations and no pressure. (I had the same converation with his "date", who said "then its perfect")

He gave me the right number, but he is not reading my messages or responding to them.

I am worried I sent too much.

I also sent a message to his "date" thanking her for speaking some courage into my. She is also ghosting me.

I have added a screenshot of what I sent to him and her (on her instagram).

Was it too much? Have I messed up? Should I reach out again in future?

I have been considering just deleting all the messages as well I sent to both of them...:(

I felt really beautiful in my evening gown and hair and makeup all done, so I am shattered and was not expecting a ghost at all...

But every time you interfere with it by sending a messthey're looking at that going. Who in the hell is this person and why are they all hell bent to talk to. Me if it was happening to me I wouldn't want to talk to you because I didn't, I wouldn't know who you were and why you wanted to talk to me so bad.

I dont know. if his read receipt is off there's no way to tell. The messages are still on grey ticks. If I Delete the messages it will show "Message Deleted" ...

It's ok delete them and way. It will show that you have thought about things and you felt you shouldn't have sent them. If he hasntvread them then maybe one day he will ask you whatvdid thevmessagesvsayvthatvyoubsent and deleted

Sometimes in life we want something so bad. And the that something says something or does something no matter what it is or was we get obsessed with it and no matter what it was all about in our minds.
We can make up any scenario

We lost and we try to force it. And that's when our world turns upside down... some things are meant to be some things or not.
If it doesn't give you the time of day. It's not for you when something is for you, you will know about it.
Because it will speak to you and show and tell you when you let it go all the way. If it was meant to be it will come back. And if it doesn't come back there will be something that takes it in place but for nowe it's time to let it go

Sometimes you think you meet the sweetest people in life and everything adds up and then its not what you thought i’m dealing with with same similar issues i got mad respect for your efforts tho and that doesn’t mean you just give up go with the next guy you see i had to learn the law of averages in dating and it sucks

You should be proud of yourself Leave it and if it makes you feel better just un match or unfollow after a week or two. love bites like the def leopard song , it sucks because i go out put on a nice outfit also i no for a fact im not ugly from women never told me that or they say im attractive and im in good shape most girls i approach act like their gonna miss the last train when i talk to them if i approach randomly or if approach 10 girls get maybe 2 numbers all be lucky if one goes out with me so if i pick every girl im attracted to and she doesn't end up being attracted to me its really messes with my self esteem rejected 10 times but i still won't give up the 100 girls guys approach stuff is real law of averages even if you good looking , some guys are as petty as a girls hair color makes all The difference you never know i hear you

Thank you. This really helped. My self-esteem really did take a knock it was my first time asking a guys number like that and I feel like I messed it up, but the lack of response says more about him then about me I guess. Maybe some day we will reconnect but I will leave it for now...

Awesome you should be so proud of yourself its something that us men have to build up rejection proof in a healthy way i would be absolutely be thrilled if a girl did that to me regardless of whatever a girl randomly complimented something i had on recently i think it will be first and only one for the year but she has know idea lol how much that replays in my head. Thats a great way to look at it people do reach back out even after a month you never know it had nothing to do with you all the what ifs are nothing compared to the feeling of never saying anything take care

I think a simple "hey, how are you? It's me ___" would have been better and that way he would have still felt free on whether to reply or not. I would just leave it alone at this point tbh. You'll find new people to chat with eventually so don't feel so bad about it, at least you had a nice night.
