For me, personally, yes. I do not like buffets at all.
For “You’re the man. Figure it out.” women. You have no say in the matter. Either let him know what you want to do, or reject the proposal outright. It’s childish and obnoxious to refuse to give enough information to ensure that a date is mutually enjoyable and then b*tch because it didn’t live up to expectations you refused to voice up front.
For dudes who don’t generally eat at buffets but think that’s a good sh*t test for a first date, it’s just as childish and obnoxious as above.
Go do something you both will enjoy and give you time and space to get acquainted.
One of the best first date stories i ever heard was from a guy who was uncomfortable with how much the woman pressed him to let her make the plans. She took him to a “pick your own blackberries” farm. Taught him which berries to collect and promised him that if the date went well she’d share her pie with him. There was a second date where they had pie! At the time of that conversation, they had been dating steadily for months. They were both keepers, and they deserved each other.00 Reply

8 moAn all you can eat buffet screams that you grew up in a trailer park and you work night shift at a warehouse. Honestly...
- Stale food that has been sitting out for who knows how long.
- The absolute worst corporate chain menu. Frozen fried shrimp, etc.
- Browning salad greens.
- Serve yourself dining. Very classy.
- Usually no liquor license. Forget about wine with dinner or an after dinner drink.
- Families with kids being loud and babies squalling.
- Stains from food spilled on a carpeted floor.
Have a heart. She's your guest. Find out what sort of food she likes and doesn't like beforehand. Take her some place small and quiet where you are on a first name basis with the waitstaff, the bar staff, and the maitre d'dining room. Call ahead to reserve a good table at a time when the vibe is sure to be good.

8 moIt's a good first date. Sharing a meal together is a fine first date. Since it's all you can eat, the meal can last a long time, giving you two plenty of time to talk and get acquainted.

8 moPersonally I really don’t like the “All you can eat” offerings. From experience it’s like some sort of food Frenzy with people intent on getting more than their moneys worth by a huge margin with queues like some sort of soup kitchen of a homeless shelter , just not for me ! But if both parties or more ( double dates ) like that idea then sure why not. I suppose a good point is with all of the types of food available at the same price there is generally something for everyone but some people are pigs and make a mess and raise the volume which lowers the tone considerably. You’re better off having a date in Popeyes , Wendy’s or Macdonalds.

8 moI don't think it is a serious mistake, but it is probably not a good idea for a guy for a first date. What attracts women to men is their ability to provide and protect. So the goal on a first date is to show that you are able to do that. Even if it is a nice place, and where I live there are some fantastic buffets, it symbolizes a kind of "cheap" image that women subliminally find unattractive. They want to be wined and dined at least in the beginning. They want to feel spoiled, cherished, desired and wooed. They want to be seen as a prize. A buffet, no matter how nice it might be, doesn't send the right message.
00 Reply 19.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. if you really like the guy, it’s not a good idea But if you wanna pig out and if you don’t mind getting food all over your shirt and have to go to the bathroom. But is it worth it to You? You could overheat and get a Stomach ache. You Don’t want to just eat one plate at a buffet they charge you like double so you have to get your moneys worth and eat like food is going out of style. Us football players like me have huge appetites and is a nightmare for the restaurant owner. The average person has one or two plates in them. I can eat 12 plates no problem of Pasta and pizza And I mean, large plates I’m also food eating champion and have online plaque on my name on the restaurant wall At this famous popular steakhouse in Miami,

8 moEveryone enjoys a good meal & when it comes to a buffet it’s probably not a good idea to take someone there on a first date especially if you get the shits & end up blowing up the toilet seat. A buffet on a first date is a disaster in your pants waiting to happen.

8 moIf the date goes well, I respect the fact she could keep up with me and has the maturity to have a good time there, if it goes bad, I still get to eat at the buffet.
It's a win/win-win

Anonymous(45 Plus)8 moIt's kind of funny to me. I'd say it depends on the woman. I see nothing wrong with it, but I'm not a highfalutin guy and I like a good deal, I also seek out women who are like minded to me. But I'm not getting any younger, and I try to avoid buffets in general. 1. They're generally the dirtiest dining. But 2. I would be too tempted to try to get my money's worth at a buffet.😆 I don't need an excuse to eat more than I need, ya feel me?😆 you can get away with that stuff at your age.😆

Anonymous(36-45)8 moI dated a female athlete when I was in the military all our dates started or ended in a all you can eat buffet.
I tried to empress her with a nice night out the first date but we just ended up trying to find more food since we both had a heavy week of training.
I don’t think we could have afforded to stay together we just ate to much. Lol sadly she couldn’t handle the Deployments00 Reply3.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. I'm not sure if that's the best idea to stuff your face full of food in front of your first date xD

8 moPersonally all you can eat is bad for me, because it’s waste the money. Like I can only eat a plate.

8 moDepending on the person, it could make them self-conscious, because of what and how much they eat. Logically it is cost effective and has a good variety of food. But it comes down to what both agree on.
00 Reply 2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. It seems fine. Big chance of finding foods that both people like and probably reasonably priced too.

8 moUnless you already know each other, a first should be super simple to see if you even click in person. If no you can end it early. I you do, you can extend and expand it.
00 Reply 2.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. I would class it up a bit to a dit down restaurant. No coupons.
