How do I even get a boyfriend?

I’m a 20 y/o virgin with zero experience. It just hit me that I don’t know squad about relationships stuff. I recently got acquainted with this guy, let’s just call him my friend but we’re not that close to be friends yet but I like him a lot and I would really love for him to be my first boyfriend but how? What do I do to achieve that? Give me some beginner friendly tips that wouldn’t make me look weird and awkward. I think he might be attracted to me too but my awkward and pulled away demeanor might’ve given him the wrong signal cuz i become avoidant when i like somebody.

We hang out all the time (but in groups) cuz we’re in the same circle. We’re practically friends, so me following him can be seen as just friends connecting with each other. My friends and another person here told me that I should start signaling that I like him by asking him questions and all that. He is five years older and is single

Yes, I was the one to flirt to let him know that I was into him. If you don’t, he may (and I mean MAY) think to himself that you are a friend and he doesn’t want to ruin that by taking a shot.

So, you want to subtly flirt or convey that there may be more interest than just friends.
