The place he (or she) lives has a just over 40k a year standard of living. If you need to adjust how much he (or she) makes to fit how much the standard of living is where you are go ahead just add 20% to whatever the base standard of living is.

Yes, he (or she) works. He (or she) is always working to expand his (or her) passive income. It's just not an hourly or salaried job per se.
