To be honest, I haven’t had too many relationships in my life, just because I’ve focused on school and my career for most of it. So I’ve had one relationship before the one I’m in now. And that relationship was extremely toxic and the worst type of boyfriend to show me how to be treated. That’s all I had to base off of. I’m now dating this amazing guy, who treats me like a queen. I was telling my friend about how he wanted to drive 2 hours just to spend the night with me and leave at like 5 in the morning to go straight to work. She said that’s the bare minimum. Is that true? I’m not sure how I’m supposed to be treated lol because every little thing he does, I’m grateful for and appreciate him for.

I’d say yes, driving to see your partner in an LDR is the least either of you can do, because it’s the most fundamental part of your relationship aside from communication.

I am what he did is effort but taking you out and spending time with you is more of an effort. If it revolves anywhere around sex and he's not taking you out is the bare minimum. Him not spending money is bare minimum (sometimes tho)
