I know some people are against dating a widow and some widows choose to never date again after they lost their spouse or loved one, Would you date again or would you stay single?

My wife and I had this exact conversation after a young husband and father at our church was killed in a work accident. We have each given the other permission to date and marry again if one of us died prematurely. I probably would, after taking the appropriate time to mourn and adjust. I wouldn't pursue a new relationship immediately, but I don't know if I'd wait several years. My children are young and would need that feminine presence, and likewise I would need someone to help me manage the day-to-day craziness of life.

Additionally, marriage has been good for both me and my wife. We would each want the other to have that experience of a happy and joyful life again.

None of this however changes the fact that we very much don't want to be in that position.

I'd seek comfort in the closest single lady in my life who's not family. I'd want some arms to be around me while i mourn, at least.

Then after, I'd see about moving onto someone else until my time comes. I do hope to have kids so the long time portion here suggests in this scenario, kids are involved and need a close woman to help.

I think I’d take time to grieve and really process the loss , honoring the years and memories shared.
