What are your BEST and WORST Valentine's Day stories?

In 2015, I went to visit a long-time romantic interest who lives about 240 miles south of me. I booked a hotel room, made dinner reservations, had roses delivered to her home (actually, she was living with her daughter, son-in-law, and twin granddaughters.) We went out for dinner and had a good time. I gave her a pair of strawberry garnet earrings (her birthstone.) After dinner, she said, "I'd really love to come to your hotel room and spend the night but I need to get back home before the twins' bedtime. They can't go to sleep without me being there."

Best? When I was an itty bitty kid I spent all my money on a large heart shaped box of Ghirardelli chocolates and gave it to a woman who was like an aunt to me. She loved it and it made my day.

Worst? I don’t know that I’ve ever had a bad Valentine’s Day.

I really do not have any great Valentines Day stories. I have horror stories about Christmas and some epic Independence Days but Valentines Day is sort of just there.
