For women it’s mostly chromosomal issues that increase with age. So for example down syndrome or other chromosomal syndromes. That starts to increase after 35, but dven more after 40. But mens age also play a huge part in the health of the pregnancy and baby. If the man is older (risk start increasing at 35, then faster after 40 and even more after 45 and if the woman is 10 or more years younger than the woman there’s an even bigger increase in risk) there’s increased risk of schizophrenia, autism, adhd, depression, suicide, addiction, low iq, learning difficulties and more. It also takes longer for older men to get a woman pregnant, they have more mitatef sperm, there’s increased risk of miscarriage, preterm labor (which is a huge risk factor for health issues, growth issues and death for the child), preeclampsia, gestational diabetes etc. All which are a risk for both the mom and baby. So a mans age is just as important, maybe even more important, than a womans age when it comes to the childs health. Chromosomal abnormalities can be screened for with blood tests and ultrasounds during pregnancy and often pregnancies where the baby is chromosomally abnormal will end in miscarriage naturally. The issues with the babies coming from mens age can’t be screened for and won’t result in miscarriage.

@anonymous Not really. Remember a man can impregnate as many women as he wants so he has more opportunities to have healthy children. A woman can only bring one kid to term so they are at much higher risk.

Late 30s to very early 40s; it’s very possible after but there are more risks.

40-45. The only thing is that after 30 the odds of having a healthy child and even having kids starts to go against you.

Women should really be having their kids 16-30, ideally men to. One way I look at it is that if you wait until 40ish and your parents had you around 30 then your parents will be 70 years of age when their grandchildren are born and if your kids want until they are 40 you will be 80 when you become a grandparent and you will be 100 when your grandchild graduates college, dead b4 you see a great grandchild. Id like to be like my own grandfather before he died, surrounded by grandchildren and even great grandchildren. Can't stress the importance of my grandparents when I was coming up, id like my children and grandchildren to have that.

Entirely possible even without fertility drugs etc just becomes less and less likely and then impossible. Somewhere between that age the door shuts forever.
But yeah too old. Honestly 30 is probably older than they should be having kids too. Big difference between a woman having a baby at age 20 compared to 35, easier pregnancy, easier birth and quicker recovery.

Nothing is guaranteed in life. And even most women in their 40s who give birth have healthy kids.

But if you want to increase the odds in your favor, date 30 and younger.
