How can I get my parents to stop pressuring me about marriage and kids?

My parents have occasionally made comments in the past about my “dating life” and how they want kids in the future. I always told them it’s not much of my interest and i prefer pets. I thought i got it through to them until valentines day i was on the phone with them, and they began telling me how they want me to start dating ASAP so they can have grandkids.

I once again told them i don’t want kids, and if I’m meant to be with someone it will happen when it happens. I told them that there is no correct age or timeframe for marriage or finding a life partner and they did not like my response with that. Right now I’m focused on my career and figuring out my own life so I can be financially stable-not relationships and definitely not babies… how can i get them to understand this?

let's start with biology:

• your species needs to survive, so you need to have kids -> your body sends you hormones that reward you for doing so
• but also, as long as your (grand)-parents are alive, every so often, their bodies will also send them hormones to make them do sth about the (great) grand child issue.

but do not forget that your relatives pressuring you cannot see into your brain, they do not know how fkn disgusting this is to you and that things would progress way faster if they shut the fck up about it. as established above, just as you getting horny and having little to no control over why exactly you want to sleep with a certain person and then give it your best shot, they also have little to no control over this desire to push you in a certain direction just in a vacuum.

but humans have free will which can overwrite just about anything your body is signalling to you. it's why so many losers can just decide to never actually bother losing their virginity. it's how at least some monks can live in celibacy. it's why some radical feminists can exclude themselves from the dating game or heck, even force their bodies into a completely new sexuality, usually bisexuality when young, then eventually exclusive homosexuality as they get older and even more indoctrinated/convinced. so what you must do is to tell them to stop. if they actually wanted to help in a constructive way, they'd help you get a home where you can have quiet and undisturbed sex with your partner of your dreams and when the time comes, they'd help you get a home where you can bring up a child or two or even more. they could even help you with moving, eg your dad could drive the truck and your mom organise some movers. heck, your parents would likely be of most help if they watched out for your kids regularly.

did you noticed how all of these things have nothing to do with anything romantic or sexual concerning you and your (future) partner? all of this is about them providing you with some comforts that you may be lacking or with helping hands, all of which will ease the pressure of thinking about bearing children and bringing them up.

I know this girl that's part of my family through the in-law system. Her parents were doing that too. I would start by having another conversation with them stating that you aren't interested in having kids or dating atm. It might happen down the road, but you do not owe them grandkids and they need to understand that.
