Should I list ‘long-term relationship’ or stay open on dating apps?

There are so many people out there saying they are unsure what they’re looking for and honestly it’s like big time red flags but even the good ones are seemingly very receptive to you even when you have “looking for long term / life partner”

Do I have to be more open to short term situations more? It’s just such a backwards world we’re living in. I just feel that we live in a time when people want an easy in and easy out and it’s honestly a shame.

You can hint at what you’re looking for on the dates themselves if you find a match but why set out your stall like that and potentially cut out women who want to focus on finding the guy first.


To me saying you ‘only’ want long term implies that your gonna be looking to steer aggressively towards a relationship from the first date and puts un-necessary pressure on proceedings , like “ don’t be wasting my time with fun , romance and chemistry , I only want a wifey “ 😜

I would put long term.

First off, it doesn't really matter if the woman likes what she sees, you can put down that you're a serial killer and she still be interested. She'll just think you're funny. And that is ASSUMUNG she reads your profile, which most women don't. But the point is most women are going to want a guy that says "long term" even if she has NO interest in actually being long term with you. It's just the way Women are. It's what they think they want vs. What the actually want.😆

That’s how I truly feel but it just seems like nobody has their head or intentions in the right place anymore. It’s incredibly frustrating. It’s almost like if I can’t beat them, join them, I guess? Looking for someone anymore really sucks.

There's a lot going for something casual, cheaters, or open relationships, doesn’t mean I'm going to go for those kinds of relationships, as it isn't what I'm interested in.
It's up to you whether you'll accept certain relationships, not the others.
Be true to yourself or you won't find someone that's right for you.

It's probably safer to know what the audience is according to that specific dating app. Some are primarily intended for casual, some are primarily intended for serious stuff. Like it's going to be bold to look for long-term on Tinder, you'd probably swim against the current
