Have online dating apps made matches and relationships more disposable now?

Back then I got so many more messages on the apps. If I do meet someone, the relationship would be so much more intense. Nowadays, it's so much less like that. Now i just get a lotta likes but barely any messages. Just feel like competition is much higher on the apps nowadays and relationships are much more disposable

I don’t think there’s any question. As somebody who dated back in the pre-Internet days I can tell you it was better in a lot of ways. People were much more willing. It seems, to be accepting or compromise than they are today. People today have their list of “must haves” or they talk about what their “icks are. We’ve gotten spoiled with the DoorDash mentality that we can almost order our perfect match in life for an Internet filter. And if it doesn’t work out, you just move onto another one. Or perhaps you just don’t give people a chance that you would have either way it hasn’t been great.

It's because platforms are becoming more and more dictated by "algorithms" and bots, and the dating sites are taking huge advantage of this.

Dating apps have always been a meat market for women while they present men with a bunch of fakes to keep guys hoping and paying premiums to be matched more, but if you're a woman experiencing a drought now then that is a clear sign of how algorithms and AI are invading these sites a lot more. The goal is to discourage you enough not to leave, but to fall into paying premium to get matches, just like these sites have done with men for years.

Yeah and the type of people who get on and stay on dating apps. Some are simply desperate people that for some reason or another have a hard time in real life. The other…. A mix of people there for attention and validation. People who just want cheap disposable relationships they don’t want any depth or bonding. Maybe sex or free stuff yada yada.

I generally tell people to avoid it you don’t know who you’re even talking to. You’re better off meeting someone in real life if you can.

No. Degeneracy and promiscuity made relationships disposable. When you have people who make a habit out of fucking at the drop of a hat and and walking off at the first sign of resistance none of these people are prepared to function in a serious relationship. Dating apps can accelerate degeneracy but you have to already be a degenerate to act this way in the first place.

Disposable? I do not think so. They just make it more likely a person will always think they could maybe do better. Thus they will end up scrolling looking for the next thing instead of actually going out with a person and meeting them face to face.

There little to nothing in it for a guy to message anymore. If a woman is truly interested more often than not she WILL message him. Guys have caught on to this fact.

Yes, the internet as a whole has made made relationships more disposable. But guys have caught onto how few women are actively using online apps. Guys know many of them aren't even women.

actually the opposite. i think dating sites are suggesting "more choices" leading people to thinking they can have a better partner easily, which realisticly they can not. that shows in the marital rates and the birth rates.
