So I downloaded this dating app Feeld And I Matched with this Older guy whose profile was just what I was looking for, but the only problem is he’s 56 and I’m 18 so I called my friend about it and he said he’s definitely way too old to me. I mean that’s older than my mom but part of me doesn’t care. Boys my age are just that boys and i’m looking for somebody that’s mature, a real man. I want somebody who’s real somebody that I could count on who reliable and secure. So, how old is too old?

I get that you’re looking for a mature man, but the guy in your screenshot seems more into hookups or something casual. If you’re aiming for something serious... someone you can rely on then it might be better to avoid guys who post shirtless pictures or similar content. Because in most cases, they often enjoy the attention and may not looking for a long term relationship.

Also, someone in his 50s is too old for you. You could consider dating someone in their early or mid-twenties.. they would be a better match—you’ll have more in common, and be in a similar phase of life.

And just be careful with dating apps... people can easily hide things, and not every profile is genuine.

I'm pretty liberal about age gaps. I could go 15 years older than me without giving it any thought, but 38? Long term? That's pointless unless you want to be a widow when you're 35. Just a temporary thing? See if he'd go for it if you want I guess.

I don't personally like huge age gaps, and would prefer to only date women within 5-7 years of my own age, but if someone else wanted to pursue a larger age gap, such as your example; that's entirely up to them.

You're both consenting adults, so it's completely legal, and if you felt comfortable with that age gap, there's nothing wrong with it.

What do you want? Sex in a short term relationship? Then age is not a problem. A life partner? Keep in mind that when you are 40, he will be 78. He could remain healthy until 80 or older, or his health could fail at 60. But that's true of every person -- they can become seriously ill at any age, it's just more likely as we get older. It comes down to how much you want to be with someone.

AND…if he’s ok with the age difference then you should be creaped out and should know that it’s a red flag.
