At what age would should a woman stop trying to have kids?

I had my first child at 40 and my two twins (whom I just had 8 months ago) at 42. I get that it's biologically more ideal to have them younger because it's a lot riskier for many reasons (and a lot less guaranteed) when you're older. However, I didn't find the right guy until really late (and believe me we were trying right when we knew we were at that point of our relationship). Also, all my kids are healthy and normal (which I'm extremely grateful for). I had my kids much older, but I've got no regrets. It turned out great for me.

Generally, anything over the age of 35 is considered a geriatric pregnancy. The risks involved with the pregnancy for both the mother and the child increase a lot after this age.

If you are thinking about getting pregnant after this age, I would seriously suggest you talk to your doctor first.

When the doctor tells you it's impossible. Even then it's happened. My opinion, if you still want one, no matter your age, just keep trying to (and have fun in the process!). But, you might have to come to terms with the possibility of it not happening either, and don't base having sex on this "goal" alone (meaning have fun and enjoy it also, not just having sex to produce a baby, and the ONLY reason for doing it).

40. Hell, even after 34 is old. Yeah, I know it doesn't always work out that way, but do you really want to be 59 by the time the son or daughter finishes high school?

At age 40 she's most likely gonna have a DOWN SYNDROME kid.  Gotta get those rug-rats to pop out way before that

Everyone is different. Women who are healthy might be able to have children at 40.

35 if she wants biological children. Regarding adoption, I would recommend stopping at 51.

35 is probs a good cutoff. My mom had me at 35 and my sis at 37 and there were complications in both instances
