What's a first date suggestion you dread for someone to offer?

Please don't invite me for a coffee lol. Like I'll go but I don't really drink coffee so what am I gonna get? A hot chocolate? A frappe? Imagine how distracting that would be, watching the whipped cream slowly descend.

Also, I have no idea how to facilitate a vibe like that and still be authentic. When I think of a coffee date, I think of laptops, excel spreadsheets and phone calls. I'm a fun person, I wanna talk about movies and goals.

How am I gonna look with my frozen hot chocolate frappe talking about "ooohhh I'm gonna start another production company (straw sounds*)" 😂

Maybe it's because I've never been to a coffee place where you sit down except Starbucks... Alright a part two is in order, will report back.

Something too elaborate especially if someone’s planning a date without any intentions to pay. If someone doesn’t drink coffee there is other stuff you can order like tea or hot chocolate and it’s really not that weird….. unless it’s served table side and if it’s that weird for you….. okay.

Doesn't have to be coffee but I want to get to know someone. Last thing I want is to be stuck with someone or someone’s stuck with me on an awkward date. Take the pressure off and make it easier on both of us.

Why would you want to facilitate vibes unless you have reasons to think that people perceive you as someone weird. And thinking about how to be authentic is probably the best way to not be authentic lol

Being an authentic person is a conscious effort. If you don't put work into it then you'll be the only person who believes anything you believe about yourself. Because you never question anything or analyze yourself.

As for the procurement of wanted vibes. That's kinda the whole point of hanging out with someone. If someone threw you a birthday party and had it at a place nobody in your circle including them or you would be particularly fond of and picked a theme they thought was boring and just made a bunch of bad decisions... Now apply that to a first date and hopefully you can imagine how that might not give someone an accurate first impression.

Your second point is pretty valid. Lol. The challenges with that could probably be a my take once I've dated a few more who made it to the level I was at before. But suffice to say many of us have absolutely gigantic egos 😂

A conscious effort only to counter the many efforts that have been made to fake a persona. Which could happen if your upbringing and surroundings taught you, directly or indirectly, to wear a mask, but I'm speculating here.

As for vibes, I don't know, the last time I saw someone visibly nervous for a date I offered to deconstruct what awkwardness is, on the fly, which made her feel visibly at ease in just a few minutes. It was fun

Also, as a conditioned Zelda enjoyer, waterfalls are inherently attractive to me.

Even if I never talked to a fairy in real life, it still feels like I could find one, so I keep looking behind the waterfall anyway
