What would you wear on a first date?

Having known a friend for a while. Hanging out with them day to day. Do you think you'd be over or underdressed?

With someone who already knows what you look like on a regular Tuesday, I'd go one notch up from your usual, not a full reinvention. Like if you normally wear jeans and a t-shirt around them, jeans and an actual top that fits well. Something that reads as "I made an effort" without screaming "I have been planning this outfit for three days" (even if you have been planning it for three days).

I've made the mistake of going full glam for someone who'd only ever seen me in work clothes and it just felt weird for both of us, like I'd shown up as a slightly different person. The goal is probably to look like yourself but on a good day.

I mean it depends on what we are doing, if we are going out somewhere and its' nice out I'd probably wear a sun dress, sandles and a hat. If we are going out to dinner I'd wear an elegant dress, if we are going out and it's cold, maybe a tunic over tights with boots.

Something casual obviously I want to put effort into my appearance and show I care….. without also putting on too much of a show. I want to be authenticity me that’s the best way to go….. if your authentic self dresses up in a tuxedo that’s amazing but if you don’t …. Don’t.

I wear clothes that are attractive but cheap and easy to assemble. It fits both the business culture and the middle class budget culture.

Depends on where we're going, time of day and weather. I'm a fan of sundresses when the weather is warm enough for them. I wore one on my first date with my boyfriend. I'll generally try to go for something a bit up from what I casually wear along with some light makeup. I'll save those WOW outfits for later dates. I'm not shapeshifting for anyone I might never see again 😅

I typically always put maximum effort into my appearance for first dates, regardless of how well I know them. It also depends on where we’re going.

I don't wear anything different than usual, it's not as if it was needed anyway, I'm not going to fancy places. For any reason.

Among my friend group I'm always the best dressed guy. So I'd probably be overdressed. But all my friends male and female expect that from me.
