So quick thing: There's a guy I've met when I was super young. We were both 13. Moving fast forward, we were never friends at all but we got along like classmates, however he's in the US and im living around MENA region, so totally impossible of course, but we come from the same country. Either way, i suddenly like him a lot and we dont even talk but he's someone who fights for his ideals and got everything he wished for. His determination is truly admirable considering where he is now and how is he. But i dont know if he would like me or even find me pretty. Damn, i dont even know if he's gay. What should i do? He never had girlfriends before AT ALL and also never had boyfriends. I will be ok if we were close friends at least. I kind of just want to be his friend? And i dont know how to approach without being weird? Im 24 by the way.

So you were classmates as teens, 10 years ago, which is an eternity, from teen to adulthood, meaning that he has changed tremendously from the last time you saw him. He's a person you have no idea about yet you think you know but based on outdated information so watch out.

And the same for him, you have nothing in common anymore with who you were 10 years ago. I'm just saying that to warn you about misunderstandings from both sides.

Approaching him without weirding him out seems simple to me, just be honest, you want to say hi to a former classmate because you though he was pleasant then say hi, say who you are, say that you thought of him and that's it.
